About The Promise Collective
The Promise Collective exists to help the Church move toward becoming what God has always intended it to be: a visible, multiethnic people formed by the Gospel and united in Christ.
From the promise to Abraham to the church at Antioch to the vision of every tribe and nation in Revelation, Scripture tells one consistent story:
God is forming one people from many.
The Gospel does more than reconcile individuals. It forms a new people. A gospel-led church moves toward becoming one people from many.
Yet truly multiethnic churches remain rare, and many leaders pursuing this work do so without the relationships, support, or infrastructure needed to sustain and multiply it.
The pathways have been missing, but never the vision.
Many pastors believe the vision of a multiethnic church. Few have been shown how to build it, sustain it, or multiply it over time.
The Promise Collective creates a home for pastors, church leaders, and churches committed to this work through relationships, resources, and training.
We are building the long-term relationships, training, and infrastructure needed to make multiethnic churches reproducible rather than rare.
Through trusted community, practical equipping, and shared learning, leaders are supported in building, sustaining, and multiplying multiethnic churches together.

The Promise Collective is led by pastors who have spent years building, leading, and sustaining multiethnic churches in real ministry contexts. This movement is shaped by lived experience, not theory alone.
Co-Founder
Dr. Derwin Gray is the founding and lead pastor of Transformation Church, a multiethnic and multiplying church in the Charlotte region. A former NFL player, pastor, and nationally recognized author and speaker, Derwin has spent more than a decade helping leaders understand and build gospel-centered, multiethnic churches. He is the author of several books, including Building a Multiethnic Church and How to Heal Our Racial Divide.
Co-Founder
Pastor Léonce B. Crump Jr. is an international speaker, former NFL athlete, and the co-founder and senior pastor of United Church in Atlanta, Georgia. He is also the author of Renovate: Changing Who You Are by Loving Where You Are and co-author of The Resilience Factor: A Step-By-Step Guide to Catalyse an Unbreakable Team. Léonce has been published in various print and digital publications, writing on everything from leadership to politics. He serves on several nonprofit boards that promote human flourishing, and has invested more than a decade of his life planting churches and training leaders to establish spirit-led, gospel-centered, multiethnic churches. A champion for the church’s participation in focused and intentional cultural renewal, Pastor Léonce is a leading voice of a generation committed to operating as God’s redemptive agents on the earth. He and his wife, Breanna, reside in Atlanta with their three daughters and son.
